Kasese Holds First RCC Meeting

Kasese High Court Circuit today held its maiden Regional Coordination Committee (RCC) meeting chaired by the Resident Judge, Justice Makumbi David.
The Resident Judge welcomed the members and informed them briefly of the advantages of having a circuit in kasese and urged them to ensure coordination among justice actors.
The CAO, Kasese District Local Govt welcomed the Resident Judge, and the Court established.
He noted that Kasese was highlighted as a red spot globally, a center for violent acts, and therefore, the Court was a step in the right direction.
The Deputy RDC Kasese District also pledged to work with the officers of court to ensure smooth running of government programs.
These remarks were followed by reports from the different justice agencies.
The meeting was concluded with handover of land titles to the Judge for the land donated to The Judiciary by the CAO and RDC.
The land is for both the High Court and Chief Magistrates Court.
In attendance were; Deputy Registrar, Chief Magistrate and Magistrates Grade I under the Circuit, Regional Police Commander Rwenzori Region, Prison heads in the region, Representatives from Attorney General's Office, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocates in the Rwenzori region, DISO, Community Service Officer for Kasese District, Justice for Children Coordinator.
